Let's Be Better Humans

Picture
The "Let's Be Better Humans" bus project began with a simple yet profound question: "What is your name?" Photographer Jon Linton's journey into homelessness advocacy started in 2007 when he began documenting the lives of individuals living on the streets of Phoenix, Arizona. One poignant encounter—when a man wept upon being asked his name—highlighted the deep human need for acknowledgment.

Jon founded "Let's Be Better Humans" in 2014, transforming his advocacy into a movement. With the support of Adam Bronfman, the project was then handed down to Arizona Jews for Justice, a social action initiative of Valley Beit Midrash, where the project continues to expand.

Each year, Arizona Jews for Justice takes hundreds of youth, teens, young adults, and people of all ages on transformative service-learning excursions aboard the Let’s Be Better Humans bus. These hands-on experiences allow young people to engage directly with their communities, develop a deeper understanding of social issues, and contribute meaningfully to our outreach efforts.

Not only does the bus provide direct relief, but it also serves as a visual representation of social activism at communal gatherings. This powerful image and symbolism are an incredibly effective educational tool for our community.

Your generosity will help so many people in need!
